Nancy O'Dell's initial position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as anchor of the morning news and as a the crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston concerning the lack of leniency by police regarding DUI cases led to a State Law Enforcement Division to examine. It led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous guidelines in these cases. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell an award for the Best Report of the year Award to all South Carolina media. In the years following her stay at Charleston, O'Dell worked as an anchor co-host for the NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV as well as an investigative reporter. Then she joined Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. O'Dell, in addition to being the lead anchor for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She's reported on events such as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. She also hosted Miss USA's pageant as in addition to the Miss Universe Pageant.
